WS Epworth Climate Stewardship Fund for Charities

Sustainable, Responsible &/or ESG Policy:

Objective

This Fund seeks income and capital growth over a minimum period of 5 years by investing at least 70% in the shares of UK Companies (UK based companies listed on the London Stock Exchange).; and a carbon intensity, substantially lower (at least 15% lower, but better if possible) than that of the FTSE All Share Index.

Investment Policy

We use a climate stewardship approach which excludes companies that extract or refine fossil fuels and which have a material involvement (e.g. 20% of turnover), with supplying the fossil fuel extractives and refining industry with goods or services; seeks to minimise exposure to other companies that are fossil fuel intensive or are responsible for high levels of greenhouse gas emissions; engages with companies whose shares are held in the portfolio to encourage more action to reduce the risk of climate change; and excludes companies through ethical screening based on Christian principles. We can also invest in companies we believe will contribute to a transition to lower carbon emissions in the UK or globally and can hold other funds (including those managed by us) and cash/near cash.
