We are delighted to be joining the following panel at the Investment Association’s upcoming conference:

11:35 Navigating the Patchwork: How Investors Can Interpret Sustainability Labels and Categories Across Key Markets.

As sustainability‑related regulation accelerates around the world, investors are increasingly confronted with a complex and fragmented landscape of sustainability labels, product classifications and regulatory expectations. From the UK’s Sustainability Disclosure Requirements framework, the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) to emerging approaches in other markets, the question of how to interpret, compare and apply these frameworks in practice has never been more pressing.

This panel will explore the rapid development of sustainability labels and categories globally, examining how different regulatory regimes are shaping product design, disclosures and investor decision‑making. Speakers will reflect on the evolution of SFDR in the EU, the challenges posed by divergent interpretations of sustainability classifications across jurisdictions, and the steps being taken in other markets where regulators are advancing work on fund labelling and tackling greenwashing to improve clarity and consumer trust.

Chaired by Carol Thomas, Director of Sustainability and Responsible Investment at the Investment Association, the discussion will also consider how investors can navigate this patchwork of rules and labels and communicate clearly with clients in an environment of increasing scrutiny.
