Objectives:
The objective of the Fund is to provide long-term capital growth. The Fund is actively managed and seeks to achieve its objective by investing at least 80% of its assets in a broad range of equity securities from around the world, including Developing/Emerging Markets. We aim for a positive long-term impact on carbon emissions through active engagement by investing into mid to large cap companies. There is focused exposure to transitioning companies using our L&G Destination@Risk model. We apply a quantitative and qualitative investment process to manage risk and deliver returns. This strategy is complementary to L&G Future World and Low Carbon Transition strategies.
Sustainable, Responsible
&/or ESG Overview:
The Fund seeks to implement L&G’s Responsible Investment Framework which aims to provide a consistent and systematic approach to exclusions, refined criteria and thresholds for setting environmental and social characteristics with a defined terminology and approach to support the implementation of such characteristics across the financial products managed by L&G.
The Responsible Investment Framework sets out the various types of investment strategies that LGIM’s financial products can follow and the responsible investing methodologies that explain how such investment strategies are defined and implemented.

Sustainable, Responsible &/or ESG Policy:
The Fund seeks to implement L&G’s Responsible Investment Framework which aims to provide a consistent and systematic approach to exclusions, refined criteria and thresholds for setting environmental and social characteristics with a defined terminology and approach to support the implementation of such characteristics across the financial products managed by L&G.
The Responsible Investment Framework sets out the various types of investment strategies that L&G’s financial products can follow and the responsible investing methodologies that explain how such investment strategies are defined and implemented.
The Fund follows the following sustainability-related investment strategy:
Action: The Fund seeks to promote improvement in measurable environmental metrics such as carbon intensity and/or temperature alignment over a reasonable time frame for each asset in the portfolio through targeted engagement. To determine eligible securities for the Fund, L&G uses a proprietary framework to identify companies with the potential to improve by assessing their temperature alignment score to determine the current pathway to Net Zero CO2 and combining this quantitative score with qualitative fundamental research, such as the opportunity for the company to improve its transition or contribution to Net Zero CO2 and the company’s willingness to engage with the Investment Manager. L&G will use the proprietary framework for the design of each company’s bespoke engagement plan that seeks to effect change and accelerate a company’s transition to Net Zero CO2 through a focus on outcomes. L&G will design and maintain a bespoke engagement plan for eligible companies held within the Fund. The engagement plans will include specific climate transition targets and milestones for each company, and seek to promote improvement in measurable environmental metrics such as temperature alignment scores and/or reduction in carbon intensity, which will vary from company to company based on its unique circumstances, market position and environmental impact. Examples of engagement tools that may be utilised may include verbal or written communication with the company. Where companies are not successfully meeting targets and/or milestones, L&G will consider various escalation tools which may include interaction with the executive team and boards, public statements or letters, engagement with regulators, voting, filing or supporting shareholder resolutions. As a last resort L&G will disinvest from companies where, following a reasonable timeframe, engagement does not result in an improvement in the climate transition issues identified. L&G will track, the progress of each company during the engagement process. The Investment manager ensures that a minimum of 80% of the Fund’s investments are on a clear and measurable path to environmental transition at portfolio level by engaging with investee companies to influence their business decisions to accelerate their transition to Net Zero CO2.
Fund Exclusions: The Fund will not actively invest in companies on the Future World Protection List (FWPL). This FWPL includes certain companies that Investment Manager considers to be failing to meet minimum standards of globally accepted business practices, such as companies considered as perennial violators of the United Nations Global Compact, certain companies involved in the manufacture and production of controversial weapons, certain companies with involvement in mining and extraction of thermal coal, thermal coal power generation or oil sands which have not set out a clear plan aligned with the Paris Agreement to phase out thermal coal in accordance with specific criteria. The FWPL methodology sets out the Investment Manager’s various assessment criteria, including revenue thresholds.
Additional Exclusions: The Fund also excludes investments in companies involved in the production of tobacco, and companies that are found in violation of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. In addition to the application of the Future World Protection List, and to the extent that companies held are assessed as being in direct violation to one or more UNGC Principles for a continuous period of 6 months, they will be excluded.
Process:
Investment approach: The strategy is not limited to, but seeks to invest in companies that:
- Underperforming in their climate transition, but where we believe there is a material long-term value case for accelerating their transition to Net zero CO2 transition
- Underappreciated by the market for their Net zero CO2 transition strategy
- Contributing to the Net zero CO2 transition, but whose pace of change is currently slow Our investment approach is founded on ‘engagement with consequences’ with companies to seek to drive real-world change and unlock potential long-term shareholder value. This means that we may cease to invest in a company where its management team refuses to engage with L&G.
The process of selecting companies to invest in combines both quantitative and qualitative assessments, utilising internal and external resources and data sources. We leverage our L&G Destination@Risk model to evaluate companies' pathways to net zero through our temperature alignment score.
To determine a company's transition opportunity, we conduct a deep-dive analysis involving our Climate Solutions and equity research analyst teams. This analysis includes formulating a climate hypothesis, based on for example, own research, meetings with sell-side experts, and company interactions. This process assesses the potential for a company's alignment to a net-zero world and the resultant valuation upside from this transition.
We evaluate a company's current valuation using both absolute and relative approaches, incorporating external data and our internal modelling. Additionally, we assess a company's engagement potential based on historical interactions with L&G’s Stewardship team and the company’s corporate structure.
Further details on our methodology can be found in the following links:

Resources, Affiliations & Corporate Strategies:
Our dedicated RI subject matter experts are embedded across our asset management division. Our personnel has diverse experience and expertise across the spheres of stewardship and responsible investment. The result is a strong and cohesive set of professionals with complementary skills and experience.
As of 31 December 2025, there are 60 employees with roles dedicated to ESG, within the Asset Management division, some of which are outlined in more detail below.
Responsible Investment and Investment Stewardship team
- Amelia Tan was appointed Head of Responsible Investment & Stewardship for Legal and General’s Asset Management division in January 2025, having joined in 2022 as Head of Responsible Investment Strategy. In this role, she is responsible for engagement with publicly listed investee companies globally across all of the firm’s assets under management as well as responsible investment processes and products of the public market’s investment teams. She coordinates the strategy for responsible investing in the Asset Management division and is responsible for regulatory and policy engagement regarding environmental, social, governance and responsible investment matters.
- The Investment Stewardship team is responsible for developing and carrying out L&G’s investment stewardship and active ownership activities globally, with team members based in London, Singapore, Tokyo and New York. The team comprises subject matter experts across our global investment stewardship themes and is organised in a matrix of thematic and sector coverage. The team is co-led by Maria Ortino and Trista Chen, who report directly to Amelia Tan.
- The Responsible Investing Capabilities team, led by Russell Ramagge and comprising two further colleagues, works with investment teams to integrate responsible investing insights into investment process across asset classes and investment styles. Additionally, the team also looks to innovate on responsible investing products and solutions, with the focus on positioning and ensuring that we are market-leading, credible and consistent.
Climate Solutions team
- Nick Stansbury, Head of Climate Solutions, leads our energy transition approach and is one of our most prominent spokespeople on this topic.
- The Climate Solutions team, which has a total of eight team members, has created a bespoke, detailed and investor-focused model to facilitate construction of fully independent energy scenarios. The framework uses in excess of 10 million data variables to model the energy system. The model, Destination@Risk, is now helping to inform our long-term investment decisions and develop dynamic pathways for the energy system.
- The Climate Solutions team also support the development of L&G’s climate capabilities to be used across the firm by the individual investment teams, including the Global Index and ETF team. Recent areas of focus include the development of L&G’s Net Zero Investment Framework 2.0, to support the analysis of companies based on their net zero alignment using indicators such as net zero targets and temperature alignment, alongside our engagement-led investing approach.
Private Markets
- L&G’s Private Markets teamhas 12 dedicated ESG experts working across the range of private credit and real estate strategies that we manage. This team is led Shuen Chan, Head of Responsible Investment and Sustainability.
The above teams work centrally across our investment platform to ensure we have a dedicated function for responsible investing activities. For example, our Investment Stewardship team acts as a universal owner on behalf of all our clients, seeking to address key macro and systemic risks, with the aim of tackling market issues and accelerating progress against complex, global sustainability challenges.
Global Research and Engagement Group (GREGs)
Further to those with roles dedicated to ESG, our Global Research and Engagement Groups (GREGs) bring together representatives from the Investment and Investment Stewardship teams across regions and asset classes. The GREGs enable L&G to connect top-down macro and thematic views with bottom-up analysis of corporate and sector fundamentals to understand the materiality of sustainability risks and opportunities and prioritise them accordingly. Combining the capabilities of the Investment and Investment Stewardship teams also enables L&G to scale and coordinate our engagement efforts with companies at board and executive management levels, across all asset class and investment styles. C.40 research analysts contribute to our GREGs, researching into structural industry changes and risks, and identifying key themes and engagement topics across nine sectors.
Our Responsible Investing Governance and Decision-Making Forums has an extensive governance structure relating to RI throughout the Asset Management division. This is a mixture of informal working groups and formal forums. Please see below the chart for details.
We believe in collaboration and, where legally permissible, work with peers, industry groups, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), academia, and civil society. We look forward to continuing our engagement with a broad range of third parties.
Please see Page 26 of the Active Ownership report for details on list of related affiliations and memberships.
Dialshifter
This fund is helping to ‘shift the dial from brown to green’ by...
...taking a more proactive, engagement‑led approach to climate investing. Rather than passively owning climate leaders and excluding laggards, the strategy targets high‑emitting companies where change matters most. By deploying new capital to build influential positions, we engage directly to drive tangible shifts in business strategy and accelerate alignment with a lower‑carbon future. This approach aims to deliver meaningful real‑world decarbonisation while capturing potential shareholder value as companies are rerated following successful climate‑focused transformation.

Dialshifter statement
Find fund / asset management companies that have supplied Dialshifter information. See Dialshifter tab within record for more information. Sustainable, Responsible &/or ESG Policy:The Fund seeks to implement L&G’s Responsible Investment Framework which aims to provide a consistent and systematic approach to exclusions, refined criteria and thresholds for setting environmental and social characteristics with a defined terminology and approach to support the implementation of such characteristics across the financial products managed by L&G. The Responsible Investment Framework sets out the various types of investment strategies that L&G’s financial products can follow and the responsible investing methodologies that explain how such investment strategies are defined and implemented. The Fund follows the following sustainability-related investment strategy: Action: The Fund seeks to promote improvement in measurable environmental metrics such as carbon intensity and/or temperature alignment over a reasonable time frame for each asset in the portfolio through targeted engagement. Process:Investment approach: The strategy is not limited to, but seeks to invest in companies that:
Further details on our methodology can be found in the following links: Climate-Action-Strategy-Methodology_LG-Climate-Action-Global-Equity-Fund Resources, Affiliations & Corporate Strategies:Our dedicated RI subject matter experts are embedded across our asset management division. Our personnel has diverse experience and expertise across the spheres of stewardship and responsible investment. Responsible Investment and Investment Stewardship team
Climate Solutions team
Private Markets
The above teams work centrally across our investment platform to ensure we have a dedicated function for responsible investing activities. For example, our Investment Stewardship team acts as a universal owner on behalf of all our clients, seeking to address key macro and systemic risks, with the aim of tackling market issues and accelerating progress against complex, global sustainability challenges.
Global Research and Engagement Group (GREGs) Further to those with roles dedicated to ESG, our Global Research and Engagement Groups (GREGs) bring together representatives from the Investment and Investment Stewardship teams across regions and asset classes.
