Fund EcoMarket 2025 data – SDR labels and fund changes

The following summarises some of the major changes made to the information we published on the Fund EcoMarket database during 2025.

This post focuses on SDR labelling, data and name changes in the UK retail (individual investor) sustainable, responsible and ethical fund market.

… As indicated previously, the most commonly used searches during 2025 related to SDR labels.   The following lists the number of options in the various SDR labelling groups, with some related commentary.

2025 SDR fund labelling data as at 31/12/2025

The number of SDR labelled funds increased last year, however that is not ‘the whole story’.

• Number of live SDR labelled funds (that we were aware of at 31/12/25): 134
• Number of SDR labelled funds on Fund EcoMarket front end (ie ‘visible’ to users) as at 31/12/25: 120  (up from 109 in June 2025)
• Number of labelled funds listed that fund managers do not currently wish to publicise (and so are not visible to users):  14
• Number of SDR Labelled funds that were closed during 2025: 3 (Note – all were Impact labelled options)
• Number of ‘Unlabelled – promotes sustainability characteristics (has CFD)’ funds published / visible as at 31 December 2025: 193
• Number of ‘Out of scope of SDR’ funds listed on Fund EcoMarket.  (ie Relevant funds available to UK retail clients – please note we do not list all overseas options):  406

Commentary: This information is based on our own primary research, mostly from email exchanges with fund managers, but also from checking fund managers websites. We do not use AI for this. It may not be complete, and changes constantly.

Additional SDR labelling fund information:

• We also have information on 14 labelled options who’s fund managers have asked us not to publicise their options on Fund EcoMarket at present.
• 3 SDR labelled funds were closed during 2025. All were Impact labelled funds.
• Relevant, in scope, ‘Unlabelled’ funds outnumber SDR labelled funds.
• Out of scope (of SDR) options exceed in scope options (our overseas/offshore list is not comprehensive)

There was an unusually high level of change last year,  which ended in there being fewer entries on the site at the end of 2025 than at the end of 2024.

• Number of options (funds / portfolios / trusts etc) listed on Fund EcoMarket: 1232
• Number of fund/options name changes during 2025: 354  
• New funds/options added during 2025: 61
• Number of funds/options removed during 2025 (mostly closures): 159 
• Net change in number of funds listed 31/12/24 – 2025 (a reduction in the number of entries): – 95
• Name changes were spread across different strategy types (which we group together as SRI Styles)
