SFDR 2.0 published

Yesterday the EU published  SFDR 2.0 –  six years after SFDR was introduced.

We are yet to digest the new rules, so I can’t say much – however having had a quick look I can certainly welcome the aim of simplification and the introduction of three client friendly catagories (sustainable, transition and ESG basics)  to replace the classifications that many previously found confusing.

Links to the media release , FAQ’s and new rules are available below.

And importantly – on a ‘quick skim’ basis – it appears likely that the new rules will help with the interoperability of sustainable fund products that people like ourselves are so keen on (eg being able to map SICAVs characteristics to that of OEICs).

UK financial advisers and wealth managers invest client’s money in both UK and EU domicile funds – so the more easy they are to understand and compare the better!
