PFS/IIL London event: ‘Bringing SRI into the advice process’  May 2016

We held a lunchtime SRI event with the PFS / IIL (members only) on Wednesday 11 May at 1.15 in London.

The event overview was as follows:

Description:   A PFS/IIL lecture for financial advisers and other retail financial services professionals – delivered by sustainable, responsible and ethical investment (SRI) specialist Julia Dreblow

Introduction:  This event, the first in a new series of quarterly lectures, introduction –  how to bring SRI into the financial advice process and why it is beneficial to do so.  This session was suitable for those who may have little previous experience in this area.

Summary:  This lecture considered:
• how to identify your clients’ values based and SRI aims and find relevant fund options for them
• the Fund EcoMarket ‘SRI Styles’ segmentation model
• how and why it makes sense to bring this area into the advice process

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this lecture members should have gained an insight into the diversity of retail sustainable, responsible and ethical investment options and how to meet the aims of interested investors.

7 November Birmingham 2014

Aim Two Three Investment (post PFS) Conference – Birmingham 7 November

Advisers, in particular PFS members (given the location!), were cordially invited to attend to an investment event hosted by PFS past President David Ingram of Aim Two Three, which was  supported by Julia Dreblow of sriServices.

The event was organised to help advisers make the most of their travel time as it was held in Birmingham – the day after the PFS ‘Beyond Better’ Conference!

‘SRI & Ethical Fact Finding’ Teleconference (20 October 2014)

sriServices was delighted to announce that they held a telephone conference to help advisers with their ‘SRI fact finding’ on Monday 20 October, during UKSIF’s ‘Good Money Week’.

The event considered all aspects of ‘Ethical / SRI Fact Finding’, such as:

  • Why is SRI fact finding important?
  • How can SRI fact finding fit with my existing advice process?
  • Different fact finding approaches eg Issues v Styles
  • What should I say & do?

As well as hearing from Julia Dreblow attendees heard from three experienced advisers – Julian Parrott, Jan Oliff and Richard Essex – who kindly agreed to talk about how to approach this area.
