Understanding and discussing sustainable and responsible investment options was perhaps never the easiest topic for many financial advisers and wealth managers – yet with FCA (Financial Lives Survey 2024) research telling us that 72% of people want to ‘make money and do some good’ it it not an area that should be overlooked.
The area has also undergone much change recently, largely in response to climate change and misselling risks.
Indeed, the new sustainability disclosure rules (SDR) have done much good – by reducing the greenwash. But it has not been all plain sailing…
We have run events exploring this area with and for financial advisers and wealth managers for many years.
This year’s event, on 9 October, will be broadly split into three areas – exploring regulatory developments, understanding how strategies work in practice – and supporting better client conversations.
We will be hosting sixteen leading fund managers on five main stage panel sessions this year – plus five portfolio managers on an informal lunch session.
The expert and keynote speakers include the FCA, the SBTi (Science Based Targets Initiative), solutionist communications agency Futerra, and Good Money Week organisers UKSIF – plus myself.
I will be variously talking about our Fund EcoMarket research, market developments, the new BSI sustainable fund standard and the work of the Adviser Sustainability Group.
The event is free to attend, all-day (plus drinks reception) – and qualifies for 6 hours of CISI endorsed CPD.
It will take place at the old Museum of London, near the Barbican … and at time of writing around one third of the tickets are still available.
Please join us on the day if you can!
